Apple TV 4K & AirPods 3rd Gen : A Complete Pairing

Hitting things off with Apple's latest Apple TV 4K equipped with the newly integrated A12 Bionic chip inside with 64bit architecture while adding new video decode capabilities and audio enhancements—resulting in more realistic games, lifelike videos, and immersive sound.

This works seamlessly with all Apple devices which promotes more inclusivity amongst peers and family, as well as a newly redesigned Apple TV remote featuring a new click pad and controls that functions similarly to older iPod generations. There’s five-way navigation for accurate and precise movements, while the entire surface is touch-enabled for fast and fluid swipes and gestures.

The combination of the A12 Bionic chip, tvOS, and all Apple original content is aimed to transform the living room into an entertainment hub with shows, movies, sports, news, music, games, apps, bringing new levels of experiences. Apple TV 4K makes a great companion for iPhones, including Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and Apple Fitness+. As well as third party apps featuring Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+ is also available to download via the AppStore.

An easy setup with iPhone can also be done by unlocking your iPhone and bring it close to Apple TV to automatically transfer preferences and credentials, including your home network, Apple ID, and device settings. Your iPhone also becomes a remote to navigate and control Apple TV.

Picture quality can now be enjoyed in 4K, HDR, High Frame Rate HDR up to 60fps and supports Dolby Atmos for a better immersive sound experience. But something unique to Apple TV 4K is having the ability to colour balance any TV setting by utilising the iPhone's camera and proximity sensor to improve image quality. Apple TV uses the light sensor in the iPhone to compare a TV’s colour balance to the industry-standard specifications used by cinematographers worldwide.Using this data, Apple TV will then automatically tailor its video output to compensate for any inaccuracies in a TV’s picture settings. Higher bandwidth capabilities with Wi-Fi 6 and HDMI 2.1 improves streaming at higher connection speeds and more paths to communicate with a router.

But alongside the immersive experience that Apple promises is pairing the newly designed 3rd generational AirPods that comes with Adaptive EQ and Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking which was first introduced in the AirPods Max & AirPods Pro. The new lightweight and contoured design features a 33 percent shorter stem and a force sensor for more control of your music and phone calls. Ready for an active lifestyle, the buds and MagSafe Charging Case are IPX4 sweat and water resistant.

Combined with a H1 chip, from a first-hand impression, Spatial Audio is a unique experience as it feels like you're in a theatre when watching a movie or tv show, the feeling in audio depths of a scene comes to life more vibrantly as compared to conventional stereo sound. The new AirPods also feature AAC-ELD, a speech codec that offers Full-HD Voice quality, providing clear, natural communication for FaceTime or video calls. Further advancements in music production has taken the next leap in adopting Spatial Audio by working closely with current artists and musicians streaming on Apple Music looking to connect with listeners on a deeper level.

While its still left unconfirmed in how Apple plans to expand this for occasions such as live-streaming performances or pre-recorded concerts, the tech matches the brand's goal in inviting more users into it's ecosystem and how it could appeal to current non-iOS users.

The Apple TV 4K has storage options of 32GB or 64GB and has a starting price of RM849, while the AirPods comes at a price of RM829 respectively.
