Japanese toilet manufacturer Toto is launching a high-tech toilet that analyses users’ stool and sends health data directly to their smartphones.

Starting in August, Toto will release two new models, the Neorest LS-W and AS-W, featuring an integrated stool scanner designed for home use.
The scanner, located near the bidet nozzle, activates when the lid opens. It shines a light to analyse the stool’s shape, colour, consistency, and amount as it drops.

The collected data is transmitted to a connected smartphone app, allowing users to track trends on a calendar and receive lifestyle advice based on their gut health.

Toto aims to support the 76% of users who already observe their stool but do not track it digitally.
The Neorest LS-W will retail for approximately 542,300 yen (about USD 3,650), while the AS-W will cost around 493,900 yen (roughly USD 3,330).

Toto plans to sell more than 7,000 units annually by the third year of release.
The company, known for innovations like heated seats and bidet functions, is now expanding into health technology with this latest development.
