Technics Launch AZ60, AZ40 Earbuds With New Tech For Crystal Clear Calls

I was pretty impressed with the Technics AZ70 when I tried them out last year, going so far as to award them with the Best ANC award in our round up last year. Well, Technics is expanding on the AZ lineup with the new EAH-AZ60 and EAH-AZ40 true wireless earbuds.

Both models will come with the new JustMyVoice technology that Technics claims will offer crystal clear voice calls by actively detecting and capturing the wearer's voice while analysing and isolating background noise.

The AZ60 earbuds will also come with ANC, which is definitely a big plus point seeing as we were very impressed by the ANC on the AZ70 previously, and it will also support high-res audio with the inclusion of support for the LDAC codec.

Battery life seems to be on the low side with LDAC turned on, however, at just 4.5 hours if ANC is turned on. The AZ60 fares a bit better when running on AAC, with an estimated 7-hour battery life with ANC on.

The AZ40 will last up to 7.5 hours on AAC, which isn't as great when you consider that there's no ANC on the AZ40. It has to be mentioned that the AZ40 are smaller and more compact than the AZ60 though, so it follows that battery life won't be comparable.

The case will be able to be charged via USB-C, which is good, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like wireless charging will be supported.

That being said, both earbuds are running on Bluetooth 5.2, which is excellent, and both will come with IPX4 water resistance so rain and sweat won't be a problem. The AZ60 will come in black and silver while the AZ40 will come in black, silver and rose gold.

The AZ60 and AZ40 earbuds will be available from October in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Prices have yet to be announced.
