BMW Becomes Top Premium EV Brand in Singapore After Recording Strong Sales in First Half of 2024
BMW continues to break sales records in Singapore.
After recording a strong finish to Q1 2024, BMW Group Asia has announced that its battery electric vehicles (BEV) sales doubled in the country in the first six months of 2024.
The German automaker as a whole recorded a 51.3% year-on-year growth in H1 2024, with its BEV segment rising by 179%. Meanwhile, BMW Group Asia region recorded a 9.6% growth, with its BEV segment rising by 118.9%. Its Luxury Class also saw an increase of 38.8%, while MINI saw an increase of 17.6%.
These sales figures have reportedly put BMW Group Asia in the leading position in the premium EV segment in Singapore.
"We are proud that BMW is the top premium EV brand and second best-selling brand overall in Singapore during the first half of 2024," said Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia.
"The future is electric and as we continue to expand our EV portfolio, customers have more options to make a seamless transition to electromobility. Our strong growth in Singapore and across the region is a testament to these groundbreaking vehicles and more importantly, the confidence that customers have placed in us.”

Apart from these, the company plans to host BMW World of Golf 2024, which is set to be the brand’s largest one yet in Singapore. Eligible participants will compete across qualifying rounds for a spot at the BMW Golf Cup National Final, taking place from 4 to 6 September 2024 at Tanah Merah Country Club. The top three winners will go on to represent Team Singapore in a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the BMW Golf Cup World Final in Bangkok, Thailand, from 2 to 7 March 2025.
In line with BMW’s goal to nurture the next generation of golfing talent, a total of 24 junior golfers aged 16 and under will be nominated to play nine holes before the National Final begins.
Outside of Singapore, BMW Group Asia held experiential activities in Vietnam, including a three-day cross-country road trip in BMW X vehicles and family day workshops. These activities gave customers the opportunity to test drive the brand’s latest models on scenic routes and bond with loved ones over art and crafts at the various BMW showrooms in the country.
“Together with our three dealer partners, Performance Motors, Eurokars Auto and Eurokars Habitat, connecting and interacting with customers will continue to remain the top priority for us. From the upcoming LPGA tournament in South Korea and BMW M Drive Festival in Pattaya, Thailand, to MINI’s revolutionary brand-new showroom in Singapore, turning dreams into reality is what we do. We are driving the future, and our customers are a key part of this journey – they are by our side every step of the way,” said Nielsen
