The world's first Jetson One race occurred at Bentonville Municipal Airport, Arkansas, during the UP.Summit. Four aircraft participated in the pylon race, designed to demonstrate the craft's technological maturity. Chief Technical Officer Tomasz Patan, a co-founder of Jetson, was among the pilots.

The Jetson One is an electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing vehicle, or eVTOL, powered by eight electrical motors. Built from aluminium and carbon fibre, the aircraft weighs 54.88 kg without batteries and 114.76 kg including them.

With a pilot weighing up to 95.25 kg, the aircraft boasts a software-limited top speed of 101.39 km/h. It has an advertised flight time of approximately 20 minutes and a maximum ceiling of over 457.2 metres.

Safety features include a ballistic parachute system, an auto-landing system, and a hands-free hover system. The aircraft's safety shell is designed to protect the pilot, and it can continue flying if one motor is lost.

The entire flight is controlled with one hand using a four-axis joystick. Jetson claims its unique flight computer and intuitive control system allow users to master flight fundamentals in under five minutes. A pilot's licence is not required to operate the aircraft.

The Jetson One is priced at USD 128,000. The earliest shipping date for the aircraft is 2028.

Palmer Luckey, co-founder of Oculus and Anduril, received the first Jetson One eVTOL in early September 2025. Luckey's delivery was two years later than the initial 2023 schedule.

Luckey completed 50 minutes of flight training, after which he flew a circuit of a grassy field before landing. Chief Technical Officer Patan and Jetson Chief Executive Officer Stéphan D'haene witnessed the training and test flight. Luckey was awarded a Jetson "wing pin."

Jetson was founded in Poland in 2017 by Patan and Peter Ternström. The organisation later relocated to Italy and also has an American base in Palo Alto.

Jetson stated that this delivery marks "the beginning of Jetson's global rollout and a bold leap forward in personal aviation." The company has reported over 500 orders for the aircraft, with its future appearing promising.

Samsung has showcased a new folding phone model, part of its Galaxy Z series, signalling an upcoming addition to its range of mobile devices. The unveiling occurred at the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit in Gyeongju, South Korea.

The device was presented behind a transparent display, featuring animations that demonstrated its unique folding action. Two physical units, one open and one closed, were also visible behind the screen.

Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, which unfolds in a Z shape with one inward and one outward-folding hinge, Samsung's design features a different system. Its animation illustrates a top screen unfolding to the left and a second display hinging on the right, resulting in both hinges folding inwards.

This design choice aims to offer improved protection for the flexible display when folded, while ensuring the outer screen remains easily accessible for users. When fully opened, the Samsung display achieves a shape similar to a standard tablet.

A post on X claims that the screen will measure 6.5 inches when folded and 10 inches when unfolded, maintaining a tablet-like size and shape. Details about the device's physical dimensions have also emerged.

The smartphone appears to be approximately 4.2 mm thick when unfolded. When folded, its thickness ranges from 1.2 cm to 1.5 cm, with crease lines noted as "barely noticeable."

Samsung stated that it "continues to advance innovative technologies, including next-generation form factors in the era of mobile AI, to deliver meaningful user experiences." The company added, "The recent showcase reflects ongoing R&D efforts, and we plan to bring this next generation device to users within this year."

  • The device features an inward-folding hinge system for both screens, differing from some competitors.

  • When fully open, the display measures 10 inches, resembling a standard tablet.

While Gemini for Home will eventually support the new Google Home Speaker, an audio device designed specifically for Gemini, this speaker is not part of the current rollout and is due out in spring 2026. This speaker is priced at USD 99.

Users will continue to initiate commands with the classic “OK/Hey Google” prompt. However, Google states interactions with Gemini for Home will feel fundamentally new, handling nuanced requests.

Gemini is designed to reason through more complex tasks, moving beyond strict, very clear commands. For instance, it can understand a request to turn off lights everywhere except the living room.

It can also respond to requests such as playing the Cyndi Lauper song from The Goonies.

Beyond smart controls, Gemini for Home functions as a household organiser. It enhances shopping lists, calendar events, and kitchen timers.

Users can instruct Gemini to add ingredients for an authentic paella to a shopping list, or set a timer for a soft hard boiled egg. It can also provide useful assistance when asked about the best time to visit a tourist spot.

Google has published a list titled “100 things to ask Gemini for Home” to mark the rollout.

To gain access to Gemini for Home, users must navigate to their Google Groups settings. They should select the “Global Settings” option and ensure the box for “Add me to their groups” is checked.

Additionally, within the Google Home app, users tap their profile picture, select “Home settings,” and then check the “early access” option.

Upon joining the programme and gaining access, Gemini for Home will replace Google Assistant on all compatible devices.

Google is also expanding its presence in the smart home sector with new hardware. This includes revamped Nest Cams and Doorbells.

Competitor Alexa+, featuring AI enhancements, is also rolling out.
