Microsoft has announced that it will be expanding the availability of its artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity tool for professionals starting from April 1st. The company also revealed that it will be adopting a 'pay-as-you-go' strategy for the assistant, allowing users to pay for the tool based on their usage.
The tool, known as 'Security Copilot', was soft-launched last year and has been well-received by the cybersecurity community. It provides analysts with a simple prompt box interface, allowing them to run queries and perform various tasks such as summarising incidents, analysing vulnerabilities, and sharing information with colleagues on a pinboard.
Currently, around 300 customers are using the tool, according to a Microsoft official who spoke at an event in San Francisco.
With the expanded availability, more professionals will have access to this powerful cybersecurity assistant.
One of the key changes with the expanded availability is the shift from a subscription-based model to a 'pay-as-you-go' approach. Microsoft's Corporate Vice President, Vasu Jakkal, explained that this change was made to reduce the barriers of entry for users. By allowing customers to pay based on their usage, Microsoft aims to make the tool more accessible to a wider range of professionals.
