Meta Platforms has signed four new agreements with renewable energy developer Invenergy to source an additional 791 megawatts (MW) of solar and wind power for its data centres.

The deals aim to support Meta’s growing energy needs driven by artificial intelligence technologies, while maintaining its commitment to clean energy.
The electricity will be generated from Invenergy’s projects in Ohio, Arkansas and Texas. Although the power will be delivered to the local grids, Meta will receive the clean energy credits linked to the new capacity.

These latest agreements bring Meta and Invenergy’s total partnership to 1,800 MW. In 2024, the companies signed four contracts for 760 MW of solar power.
Meta has also partnered with other large-scale solar projects, a geothermal startup, and is exploring proposals from nuclear power developers.
Financial terms of the new deals were not disclosed.
