Mercedes-Benz has relaunched its "Mission Electric 2025" program in Singapore, expanding its presence in the country's growing electric vehicle market.

The luxury automaker claims to offer the largest range of EV models available in Singapore, and wants to position itself at the forefront of the nation's transition to electric mobility.

The initiative comes as Singapore continues its push toward electrification, with government policies aiming to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040. Supporting programs like the EV Early Adoption Incentive and the Vehicular Emissions Scheme have been implemented to encourage consumer transition to electric vehicles.

Singapore's charging infrastructure has seen significant development, according to the Land Transport Authority, there were over 15,300 EV charging points across the island at the end of last year. Approximately 7,100 of these are in public spaces, while the remainder are located in private areas such as condominiums. The government aims to increase this number to 60,000 by 2030.

Despite government incentives and infrastructure improvements, EV adoption in Singapore has faced challenges including concerns about charging availability, higher initial purchase costs, and range anxiety among consumers.
Mercedes-Benz is trying to address some of these concerns by providing a diverse range of practical modern electric vehicles. Their lineup includes models ranging from the EQB and EQE SUV to the high-performance EQS and the new EQV, catering to various lifestyle needs and preferences. Through its “Mission Electric” program, the company offers test drive experience of its range of vehicles, to encourage drivers to make the switch.
