MiniMax has launched MiniMax Design, a comprehensive production workflow engineered to enhance the H3 video model's generative capabilities. This new system, described as a "Codex" for video models, allows for continuous editing, collaboration, and delivery of content. It integrates professional functions into specific executable nodes, orchestrating H3, image, music, and voice models.

The H3 video model initially drew considerable attention following its open sourcing in early Aug., despite launching concurrently with Seedance 2.5. Users, notably those involved with the Chinese Wonderland series, adopted Midjourney to create high quality reference images, subsequently feeding these into H3. Individuals commented on H3 generated videos possessing advanced visual characteristics, smooth motion, and consistent character portrayal. MiniMax has now formalised this model capability into a specific product, MiniMax Design.

But, much like the integration of Codex with GPT-5.6 Sol, or DeepSeek Harness with DeepSeek V4, MiniMax Design connects H3 into a workflow supporting ongoing modification, collaborative work, and output. The interface presents a professional appearance, featuring ComfyUI style workflows and a full canvas as fundamental components. The system's agent team manages a majority of the production complexities.

Users are not required to understand the canvas, the 3D director booth's camera positions, or ComfyUI wiring. They articulate their requirements, and MiniMax Design progresses the production. It uses its embedded Skills, models, and agents to break down and execute the stated request. Its core function involves organising professional capabilities into executable nodes, which then direct H3, image, music, and voice models, thereby advancing AI video creation towards complete production.

Instead of composing AI video prompts and manually transferring them from platforms such as ChatGPT to other web tools like Hailuo, users can now employ MiniMax Design. A simple requirement prompts the system to generate its own canvas, producing prompts, storyboards, images, music, dialogue, editing, subtitles, and ultimately the video.

So, according to Pandaily, the system was used to recreate a scene from the film *Niu Coming*. A prompt was entered to stage a sequence within the director booth where a heroine and hero walk across grassland, encounter a wide river, with the heroine leaping over it while the hero paces on the bank. Generating this scene was complex, yet the only user actions involved uploading materials and conversing with the system.

The 3D director booth enables users or agents to place character models and adjust camera positions and poses within a three dimensional space. This facility aids in creating storyboard references and mitigating trial and error expenses. The specific challenge within this demonstration was the spatial relationship between characters. MiniMax Design initially provided a camera movement video originating from the booth, subsequently generating the precise final video by referencing this preliminary output. The booth's value lies in converting imprecise requirements into concrete spatial and motion parameters. Should an action be deemed incorrect, users can adjust characters and cameras, then regenerate the shot. MiniMax Design is reported to manage various effects videos with similar ease.

  • MiniMax Design offers a full production workflow for the H3 video model.

  • The system organises professional capabilities into executable nodes, managing various AI models.

  • Users can articulate requirements, and the system's agents handle complex production tasks.

  • The 3D director booth facilitates character and camera positioning for precise scene generation.
