LG Turns a Harvey Norman Floor Into Its AI Home Showroom

LG Electronics Singapore and Harvey Norman have rebuilt the LG Life's Good AI Home inside the Harvey Norman flagship at Millenia Walk, opening what the two companies call the world's first anchor LG AI Home Experience Zone. The space occupies Level 1 of the store and is arranged as a walk through home rather than a row of appliances on display.

The pitch is LG's Affectionate Intelligence theme, the company's name for appliances that learn a household's routines and act on them without being asked. A miniature model of an AI Home sits near the entrance to show the idea in one glance, with rooms wired as a connected system instead of separate machines.
But the opening also says something about how premium appliances are sold in Singapore. The category has moved online for research and stayed physical for the final decision, and both companies are betting that a shopper who walks through a working kitchen, laundry and living room will pay more than one reading a spec sheet.
The zone is split into themed areas. At the entrance, six connected 55 inch curved OLED panels form a flexible open space signage wall that wraps around the doorway. The kitchen carries the Fit & Max French Door Refrigerator with Zero Clearance, which lets doors and drawers open fully even when the unit sits flush against cabinetry, alongside built in hood, induction hob and oven.
Laundry and styling get their own section. The WashTower pairs a stacked washer and dryer with AI Direct Drive, TurboWash and 6 Motion, and the Styler uses Dual True Steam to refresh and sanitise clothes without detergents.
And there is a new family room. The Kids' Zone is the addition this year, built to show how one connected system can be tuned for different members of a household, while the living area carries the PuriCare AeroBooster and AeroCat Tower air purifiers, the StanbyME 2 Max moveable screen, a 97 inch OLED evo AI G6 television with an S90TY Dolby Atmos soundbar, and a DualCool AI air conditioner.
Ms Bernice Kwok, managing director of Harvey Norman Singapore and Malaysia, said the partnership with LG has grown from strength to strength and that the company was honoured to host the zone in its flagship. Mr Fabian Lee Kunho, managing director of LG Electronics Singapore, said AI should do more than connect devices and should make everyday life easier and more enjoyable.
Kim Jaeseung, regional chief executive of LG Electronics Asia Pacific, attended the opening with both executives, which signals the zone is being treated as a regional showcase rather than a single store fit out.
And LG says a structural detail points at where this is heading. Its Home Appliance Solution Company, the division behind these products, has taken in the group's Robot Business Division, folding robotics into the same unit that sells washing machines and refrigerators. A zone like this is the shop floor for that idea, a house where the appliances are meant to hand tasks to one another.
But for shoppers, the practical test is whether the intelligence earns its place. LG describes a home that recognises habits and offers recommendations, and the floor is where that claim either holds up or does not, since the demonstrations run in the store rather than on a specification sheet.
