Lenovo introduced its first humanoid robot, LeXiang No.1, at the Tech World 2025 event in Shanghai on Wednesday, marking its entry into the field of embodied intelligence and artificial intelligence.

Described as a “silicon employee,” the robot was showcased performing a tai chi routine and answering questions using Lenovo’s full business data.
Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said the company’s future may centre around intelligent agents rather than devices. “AI is making Lenovo’s vision clearer than ever,” he said.
The event, themed “AI for Innovation and Productivity,” highlighted Lenovo’s growing focus on AI and intelligent agents.
Chief Technology Officer Tolga Kurtoglu said LeXiang No.1 is powered by three core intelligent architectures. These include natural multimodal interactions for proactive communication, integration of local knowledge across platforms, and advanced task autonomy.
Security and privacy are embedded throughout all three capabilities, according to Kurtoglu.
Lenovo’s enterprise intelligence strategy is based on a four-layer “device-edge-cloud-network” architecture. This hybrid computing infrastructure supports data collection, storage, and processing, with intelligent scheduling for AI model training.
The company plans to showcase LeXiang No.1 at the 2025 Beijing Humanoid Robot Sports Competition in August. It also aims to deploy the robot in eldercare and healthcare settings.
Lenovo also introduced four smart devices featuring its Tianxi superintelligent agent. These include the AI Yuanqi Edition Moto Razr foldable smartphone, the AI Yuanqi Edition Yoga tablet, the rollable screen AI PC ThinkBook, and the 3D Savior AR smart glasses.
