Fans searching “Taylor Swift” on Google this week are being treated to a showgirl-themed digital surprise.

The Easter egg celebrates Swift’s announcement of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which she revealed on Tuesday.
When users search her name, orange confetti rains down the screen, followed by a flaming-heart image and the phrase, “And, baby, that’s show business for you.”
An orange button appears at the bottom of the screen, displaying a live counter. As of 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, the number read 61.17 million.
Clicking the button triggers another confetti drop and floating heart images, suggesting the counter may track button clicks.

This is not the first time Google has honoured Swift with a themed Easter egg. In Sept. 2023, the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” included a series of word puzzles that unlocked hidden album content.
Google has a long history of pop culture Easter eggs, including past tributes to artists like Lady Gaga, Ozzy Osbourne and Flyana Boss.
Some themed animations, such as those for the films “It Follows” and “Wicked,” have since been discontinued. However, many remain accessible through the unofficial archive site Elgoog.
Other active Easter eggs include animations for searches like “cat,” “dog,” “drop bear,” “aurora borealis,” “Isaac Newton,” and “solar eclipse.”
