The Stichting Data Bescherming Nederland (SDBN) aims to seek damages on behalf of individuals whose data was allegedly wrongfully tracked and traded between 2013 and 2021. The group has filed a subpoena at Rotterdam District Court, summoning X to appear on January 3.

X Corp, also known as Twitter, has not yet provided a comment in response to the subpoena. The case will proceed if judges determine that X has a case to answer, if there is an identifiable group of affected individuals and if SDBN adequately represents them.

This legal action highlights the growing concerns surrounding data privacy and the potential misuse of user data by social media platforms. It also underscores the increasing scrutiny faced by tech companies regarding their handling of personal information.
