The Cupertino-based tech giant has recently sent press invitations to its event titled “Spring Loaded” which will be held online on 20 April 2021 at 10 am PDT.

As previously mentioned, people have been speculating that the event will reveal some new products Apple is working on and new updates to current hardware or software.

Upgrades to the iPad Pro, such as a mini LED screen and a new chipset that’s based on the M1 chip, are some of the exciting new features speculated to appear in the event. If this is true, the iPad Pro would be one of the most powerful tablets in the world – if not the most powerful. You may remember that we previously reviewed a MacBook that was equipped with the M1 chip – the MacBook Pro 13, and we were so impressed with the chip, we thought that the chip will usher in the future of computers.

The Apple Pencil is also rumoured to be featured in the event. This new product, whose picture was leaked earlier this month, was stated by 9to5Mac to be a new accessory for the iPad Pro. PCMag’s Sasha Segan tweeted that a new Apple Pencil could be featured in the event due to Apple’s logo being made of swirly lines in the invitation.

Speaking of the M1 chip, Apple might also reveal a new iMac during the event. This new MacBook will most likely come equipped with an M1 chip like the MacBook Pro 13 and the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which are expected in the latter half of 2021.

We could also be seeing a new iPad Mini soon if the rumours are to be believed. Pocket-Lint reported that this new iPad Mini might use the newer-style power button Touch ID system seen on the recent iPad Air. Additionally, 9to5Mac reported that Apple might be working on new AirPods, including AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro 2.

Finally, it was speculated that Apple will be releasing the much-awaited AirTag trackers in the event. These AirTags are Apple’s response to Tile, a popular tracker that attaches to items so that they can be located over Bluetooth or crowdsourcing. These AirTags will be beneficial to users in finding missing or stolen items. According to Pocket-Lint, the AirTags will use the standard iOS “Find My” app to locate devices.

Although all these features and updates sound exciting, we won’t be able to confirm any of them until the event starts. Designer Parker Ortolani, on the other hand, tweeted that the event invite might not be a hint at what features and products Apple will showcase in the event. Ortolani mentioned that Apple’s invitation to events “has not meant anything more than the default wallpaper of the flagship device being announced.”
