You Can Now Transfer WhatsApp History From Android to iPhone

The ability to transfer WhatsApp chat history from both phone operating systems (OS) has been one that's hotly requested over the years, and while the ability to do so from iPhone to Android came out earlier last year, the Android to iPhone route hadn't. Well, it's not only available now, it's even conveniently available in Apple's Android app, Move to iOS, that's designed to help Android users transfer everything from their old phone to a new iPhone.

This means that instead of having to use both the Move to iOS app and the WhatsApp app to transfer everything, there will be a "WhatsApp" option in the Move to iOS app that will launch WhatsApp to help users get everything done in one fell swoop.

Mark Zuckerberg, Founder & CEO of Meta said in a comment on his Facebook page: “We're adding to WhatsApp the ability to securely switch between phones and transfer your chat history, photos, videos, and voice messages between Android and iPhone while maintaining end-to-end encryption. This is a top requested feature. We launched the ability switch from iPhone-->Android last year, and now adding Android-->iPhone as well."

The beta will start to roll out at this very moment, and WhatsApp estimates it'll take about a week to be available to all users. If you need a guide or troubleshooting on how to use the new feature, WhatsApp has two new FAQ pages up on their website.
