Xiaomi Begins Mass Production of Self-Developed Xring O1 Chip

Xiaomi has started mass production of its self-developed Xring O1 advanced mobile chip, according to founder Lei Jun.

The chip will first power the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra.


Xiaomi plans to unveil both products at a launch event on Thursday.


Lei announced on Monday that the company invested CNY 13.5 billion (USD 1.87 billion) in developing the Xring O1 chip.


He added that Xiaomi intends to invest at least CNY 50 billion more in chip design over the next decade.
