Wise Unveils Redesigned Interface, New Features in Singapore
Updated: Mar 3, 2023
Wise is rolling out a refreshed look and some nifty new features as it hits a major milestone – 16 million customers worldwide.
The visual makeover features a fresh green palette and a bold new font, which the fintech unicorn says reflects its global community as it pursues its expansion plans in countries like Singapore. The new interface is also designed to make the customer experience consistent across different countries, underscoring the company's mission to build money without borders and its ambition to create a fast and convenient alternative to the traditional system.
Wise says it has over six million active customers moving over £25 billion each quarter, and welcomes around 100,000 new users every week.
"Our new look is inspired by the millions of people and businesses worldwide that use Wise today," said Kristo Käärmann, CEO of Wise. "It draws from where they come from, but also represents the excitement of the world open for them to conquer."
The new look is rolling out now across Wise’s website and mobile apps, along with the company’s digital channels such as social media.
Apart from the new look, Wise is also rolling out four new features in Singapore.
The first of which is Assets, a new investment product that gives businesses and personal users in the country the ability to build a fund that earns interest, all while enjoying flexibility of instant access and no lock-up periods or withdrawal fees. Customers can earn an annualised yield of up to 3.22% on their SGD holdings in their Wise accounts by simply changing how their money is held. Wise does note that growth is not a guarantee, and is subject to market conditions.
Secondly, Wise is adding QR code payments for Wise account users. That means tourists and Singapore customers alike can enjoy quick, cashless transactions by simply scanning PayNow QR codes with the Wise app. The feature is already available on the Android version of the app, with it also rolling out on iOS in the coming weeks.
Wise is also expanding money transfer destinations, with the addition of 11 popular mobile wallets in Asia, including Touch n Go in Malaysia, GrabPay in the Philippines and Shopee Pay in Indonesia. The introduction of the feature follows the expansion of e-wallet payouts in other markets like China and Bangladesh.
Lastly, Wise has partnered Tiger Brokers to allow investors to withdraw from their trading account in both SGD and USD to their overseas bank account. Tiger Brokers’ users now have access to a faster and cost-effective way to move funds between their bank accounts and trading accounts with no exchange rate markups. The transactions are also instant, with more than half of global transfers taking less than 20 seconds.
