Delarosa, refused to follow SWAT negotiators' orders, prompting the deployment of a bomb squad robot by the police.

During the intense standoff, Delarosa fired at the police robot as it approached his location. Delarosa attempted to outsmart the machine by covering it with what appeared to be a blanket or towel. However, the officer in charge of the robot quickly overcame this obstacle by deploying tear gas into Delarosa's room through an open window.

Delarosa emerged from the window, visibly disoriented, to face the robot's relentless actions. The robot drove over him, revealing his red pants, before pinning him against a wall. SWAT officers were able to move in and arrest the suspect, bringing the nearly two-hour standoff to an end.
