Roam SodaTop: Portable Solution for Sparkling Water Anytime, Anywhere
Updated: 6 days ago
At the recent CES 2025, a groundbreaking innovation in the world of sparkling water has emerged in the form of the Roam SodaTop water bottle cap. This innovative cap aims to provide a convenient and portable solution for creating sparkling water on the go, challenging the traditional home carbonation market dominated by brands like SodaStream.
The Roam SodaTop functions as a handheld carbonation device, allowing users to carbonate water directly in a bottle using a specially designed cap. By ensuring a tight seal and incorporating a small CO2 cartridge, this cap transforms plain still water into a more exciting fizzy drink, offering a new level of convenience for sparkling water enthusiasts. The cap is compatible with Roam's own water bottles or other compatible options like HydroFlask.
Scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025, the Roam SodaTop will be available for $50 on the company's website, with CO2 cartridges priced at around 70 cents each. The carbonation process is straightforward - users insert a CO2 cartridge into the special lid, release the carbon dioxide into the bottle, release any excess gas, and enjoy a refreshing sparkling drink. Each cartridge is designed to carbonate a single liter of water.
Roam also boasts stainless steel water bottles that can keep beverages cold for up to 24 hours, enhancing the overall drinking experience. For existing SodaStream users, Roam offers an adapter cap priced at $13, enabling them to carbonate their drinks using the countertop machine.
While the Roam SodaTop is primarily intended for carbonating water, users can still add flavour to their drinks. Whether using flavoured syrups or other drink mixes post-carbonation, the possibilities for customisation are endless. Additionally, Roam is exploring the development of flavoured CO2 cartridges, containing essence of various flavours like ginger, lemon, yuzu, grapefruit, or white peach. This innovation will allow users to create their own zero-calorie flavoured sparkling water effortlessly.
According to CEO Sunjay Guleria, Roam's vision is to provide a refreshing and diverse sparkling water experience to consumers, offering natural and flavoured options for a delightful drinking experience. The company's commitment to innovation and convenience is evident in its product offerings, catering to the evolving preferences of modern consumers.
