Qatar Partners With Scale AI to Enhance Government Services With AI
Qatar has signed a five-year agreement with Scale AI to implement artificial intelligence tools and training aimed at improving government services.
Trevor Thompson, global head of growth at the San Francisco-based company, said the deal could serve as a model for other governments.
The agreement will enable Qatar to integrate AI-driven solutions such as predictive analytics, automation, and advanced data analysis to enhance operational efficiency, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Scale AI will develop more than 50 potential AI applications for Qatar’s government over the next five years. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Qatar is competing with Saudi Arabia and the UAE to establish itself as a leader in AI. The Gulf state, a major gas producer and U.S. ally, is investing in advanced technology to strengthen its position in the sector.
Founded in 2016, Scale AI specialises in providing accurately labelled data for AI training. The company supports clients such as Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, OpenAI, and Cohere in developing and refining data sets.
