iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 May Be Unveiled At Apple Event

If you're excited about Apple's upcoming products, then you might want to keep yourself updated on Apple's California Streaming event, which might unveil the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 and the AirPods 3. California Streaming will be held from the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Here are some rumours that you'll want to know going in.

In August 2021, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the upcoming iPhone 13 models will have a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communication mode. This means that iPhone 13 users could possibly place calls or send text messages even when they are outside the coverage area of their phone carrier's 4G/5G cell towers.

The insider added that the iPhone 13 will have a customised version of the Qualcomm X60 baseband modem chip, which will support satellite communications. iPhone 13 models might also include new features such as Apple's ProRes video compression format, a faster A15 chip and refresh rate as well as a smaller display notch. The iPhone 13 line will reportedly have the same form factor and display dimensions found in the iPhone 12 series.

The Apple Watch Series 7 might also be announced during Apple's event. Bloomberg News stated that there could be 41mm and 45mm versions of the smartwatch models. The new watch screen — measured diagonally — will be about 1.9 inches on the larger model, a slight increase from 1.78 inches. The bigger watch will have a 396x484 resolution, boasting around 16% more pixels than the model it's replacing.

According to the media outlet, Apple will unveil new watch faces to make the most out of the larger screens, with one reportedly allowing the user to see all 24 time zones at once. The upcoming smartwatch models could also have a faster processor and a redesigned case with flatter edges.

As for rumours about added health functions, Kou stated that we might not be seeing new health sensors on the upcoming smartwatches. But in the future, the Apple Watch could have features such as blood pressure and blood-sugar monitoring.

The AirPods 3 could also be revealed at the event. Previous rumours stated that the AirPods models will have shorter stems on the earbuds and support for head-tracking Spatial Audio, which currently works in FaceTime and on Apple TV. This feature uses sound recorded with Dolby technology to simulate 360-degree audio with head tracking for accurate audio positioning.

However, AirPods 3 models might not have noise cancellation technology, which could be exclusively available on the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max.

In terms of design, the new AirPods Pro might be more compact as Apple is rumoured to be intending to completely eliminate the stem. The redesigned AirPods Pro, which could arrive in 2022, might have new motion sensors to enable fitness tracking.

If you are anticipating the announcement of new Mac models and iPads, then you might have to wait for the second Apple event for that as Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said that a launch happening in the next "several weeks" will cover those products.
