Sony has just wrapped another PlayStation State of Play online stream, where it dropped a couple of new reveals and shared updates on a number of upcoming games.

While the 20-minute presentation wasn't as jam-packed with bombshell announcements as last year’s PlayStation Showcase, it does set the stage for what we could all expect to be a busy Tokyo Game Show, which is set to open this week.

Without further delay, here are all the announcements at Sony's State of Play:

Tekken 8

The presentation kicked off with Tekken 8, the next instalment in Bandai Namco's long-standing fighting game franchise, showing footage of what appears to be a mix of cinematics and work-in-progress gameplay. The brief announcement trailer features father and son duo Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima trading fists in a tempest-swept isle, taking advantage of the PS5's hardware to render dynamic backgrounds and all kinds of different stage effects.

Tekken 8 is still in development, so it doesn't have a release date yet. But Bandai Namco said the game is not only releasing on PS5 but also on Xbox Series X and PC.

Star Wars Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition

Star Wars Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition is coming to PSVR 2, as announced during the presentation. The virtual reality experience puts you in the boots of a droid repair technician who goes on an epic adventure across the Star Wars universe, fighting pirates alongside some familiar faces. No specifics have been announced yet, except that the game is launching in 2023.

Demeo

Another game coming to PSVR 2 and PS5 is the award-winning Demeo, a cooperative adventure that lets you recreate tabletop experiences in the virtual space. The game, which is already out on Meta Quest and PC, hits PlayStation platforms in 2023.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Like a Dragon: Ishin!, a spinoff game of Sega's Yakuza franchise, is getting released for the first time outside of Japan. And it's not just a mere port or remaster, but instead a full-fledged remake that's built on Unreal Engine 4. The game launches on PS4 and PS5 in February 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy also debuted a new trailer at the presentation, featuring the PlayStation-exclusive quest Haunted Hogsmeade. The game launches on PS4 and PS5 on 10 February, 2023.

Pacific Drive

Pacific Drive is described as a a run-based first-person driving survival game. It throws you into an unforgiving and hellish post-apocalyptic environment, where nothing is more important than keeping your car running. The game comes to PS5 sometime in 2023.

PlayStation Stars

PlayStation Stars, Sony's loyalty rewards program, is finally launching later this month starting with Asia. The free-to-join program lets you earn digital collectibles by completing certain activities like in-game achievements or product ownership. Some of the NFT-like digital rewards include a scene with Punto the gondolier from Ape Escape 2 and a miniature PS3 console.

Synduality

Synduality is a third-person shooter from Bandai Namco Entertainment. In the game, you and your AI partner journey across a dystopian world in the distant future of 2222. The trailer shows off a lot of the gameplay elements, such as how you'll traverse environments and combat wild creatures with your mech. The game is set for a 2023 launch.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade, the former Project Eve, also dropped a new trailer at the presentation, diving a bit more into the story. It also features new footage of the game's fast-paced, hack-and-slash combat. This PS5 exclusive releases sometime in 2023.

Rise of the Ronin

Team Ninja, the developer behind Nioh, is returning to feudal Japan with Rise of the Ronin, a new action-adventure game in the vein of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise. You play as a wandering Ronin who has to navigate a land on the cusp of major political and technological change. The game will be a PS5 console exclusive when it releases sometime in 2024.

God of War Ragnarök

Bookending the presentation is one, if not the most, anticipated game right now, God of War Ragnarök. And Sony is commemorating the launch of the game later this year by releasing a limited edition DualSesne controller inspired by the Norse world of Midgard. The touchpad even features a bear and wolf insignia, which is meant to represent Kratos and Atreus. The controller arrives on 9 November, the same day as the game.

Sony also unveiled a new trailer for the game that reveals more about the world and the threats that await Kratos and Atreus in their second adventure. Perhaps the highlight of which is the god of war's long-awaited confrontation with the Norse god of thunder, Thor.
