Updated: Aug 19, 2021

With NETS now extending their infrastructure to Malaysia, Singaporeans can now pay for purchases with their NETS ATM cards instead of having to change money beforehand or use credit cards.

This convenience also extends to Malaysia’s MyDebit ATM cards, with the cards being able to be used in Singapore. The best part? There are no foreign exchange fees and the exchange rates are claimed to be competitive, according to PayNet group CEO Peter Schiesser.

This is the first time NETS debit cards are able to be used outside of Singapore, and there are over 7,400 acceptance points in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Malacca.
