MSI Aims To Dominate With Their New 40-Series Laptop Lineup In Singapore

Did you know that MSI is one of the very few players in the market who insists on having their own factory to accommodate their own in-house designs and R&D? It simply shows how invested MSI is in their own portfolio and how they're willing to take that extra step to really provide the premium experience that they are now known for. Which also means that for us here in Singapore, MSI is really coming in strong.

Just like last year, MSI held a large-scale launch event here in Singapore and they invited all their key partners up on stage to share more about the new technologies and a snippet of what's to expect from them in 2023. Thankfully for us, we actually managed to already take a sneak peek earlier in the year at CES 2023 but we're still going to quickly cover what MSI has to offer for 2023 and most importantly, the local pricing and eventual availability.

The Flagship Titan

We start with the the flagship Titan series and this is a serious powerhouse, not to trifled with at all.

The Titan GT and Raider GE are equipped with high-end components such as the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. This is complemented with MSI OverBoost Ultra technology, which can push the processors and graphics to 250W total full power or support 5.2GHz frequency across 8 P-cores depending on workload. In addition, both laptops boast incredible displays to showcase their incredible performances.

The Titan GT in particular, features the world’s first 4K/144Hz Mini LED display which has over 1000 nits of peak brightness and over 1000 local-dimming zones. Though the Raider GE is no slouch either with a a 16:10 QHD+ 240Hz display. Furthermore, the Raider GE has a new chassis design with an upgraded matrix light bar that looks more futuristic and the Vector GP series has a new low-profile, minimalistic design which arguably makes it a good choice for STEM and engineering users in MSI's opinion.

The Titan GT77HX (13VI-052SG) will retail for S$9,299 while the Raider GE78HX (13VH-047SG) and the Raider GE68HX (13VG-029SG) will retail for S$6,599 and S$4,499 respectively.

Go Stealth

But here's arguably our favourite laptop for 2023.

The new Stealth 14 and 16 Studio are looking really impressive. These sleek machines are made with a super strong magnesium-aluminum alloy body that makes them lightweight and easy to carry. In addition, the new design is a breath of fresh air and we really do dig it.

The Stealth 14 Studio do also feature a special MSI Vapor Chamber thermal design which enables it to contain some serious firepower in a small 14-inch package. On the other hand, the Stealth 16 Studio has an incredible trilateral Dynaudio 6-speaker sound system that might actually let you enjoy the subtle sounds in Genshin Impact without a need for a dedicated headphone.

One interesting thing is the fact that both laptops are actually NVIDIA Studio validated, which means these laptops are built to handle all your gaming and content creation needs with ease and you'll be able to make use of NVIDIA Studio drivers for the best compatibility and stability. With the NVIDIA Max-Q suite of technologies, you'll get maximum performance, battery life, and efficiency without sacrificing style or quiet operation. Expect up to a Core i7-13700H for the Stealth 14 Studio and up to a Core i9-13900H for the Stealth 16 Studio. Both laptops are able to be equipped with up to a RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.

The Stealth 16 Studio (A13VF-050SG) will retail for S$3,849 while the Stealth 14 Studio (A13VF-022SG) will retail for S$3,399.

Cyberpunked

One new addition to the MSI family is a brand new style of laptop MSI calls Cyborg 15.

It sports a striking and futuristic chassis that actually makes use of semi-translucent materials for practically half the chassis. In a way, it is a little cyberpunk-inspired and it certainly sets it apart from other laptops in the aesthetics department. This will also arguably be great value of the money as MSI is going with really sensible hardware here.

We're talking up to a Core i7-12650H and up to RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. This is paired with a great 15.6" IPS panel that's capable of FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution running at 144Hz. For its size, the laptop is also pretty lightweight, coming in at 1.98kg / 4.36lbs which is of no surprise given its unique construction.

The Cyborg 15 (A12VF-021SG) will retail for S$2,299.

MSI in 2023

Now MSI is releasing a whole bunch of laptops for 2023 and we've only basically just skimmed the surface. However, the Titan, Stealth and the Cyborg are certainly the most interesting of the bunch and we're really looking forward to trying it out this year once we get our hands on it!

For all you savvy gamers out there, MSI has also refreshed the Pulse and Katana lineup, now with MUX switches! And for those of us professionals on the go, the Creator Z16 with the MSI Pen 2 or the Summit or Modern lineup might be of interest. Psst! The Modern 14 (C11M-066SG) retails for just S$999.
