The tech giant will be expanding its production to include the manufacturing of its latest mixed reality headsets in the country starting in 2025. This move is part of Meta's strategy to strengthen its presence in Vietnam.


The declaration was made by Meta's president for global affairs, Nick Clegg, during his visit to Vietnam, following a meeting with Vietnamese President To Lam in New York. Clegg stated, "Beginning 2025, Meta will expand manufacturing of its latest Mixed Reality device Quest 3S to Vietnam."

Meta has not disclosed details regarding the size of the investment or the scale of its current operations in Vietnam. Additionally, it has not clarified whether the manufacturing process will be carried out through suppliers. With millions of users in Vietnam utilising its Facebook platform, Meta views the country as a crucial market.


Clegg emphasised the significance of Vietnam to Meta, stating, "Vietnam continues to be an important country for Meta. Millions of small businesses and consumers rely on our platforms." In addition to the production expansion, Meta also revealed plans to test Meta AI in Vietnamese. The company had initiated Business AI for Messenger testing in Vietnam in June, with a full launch expected by the end of this year.
