Google Singapore’s Huat Pals Return for Lunar New Year

Google Singapore's Huat Pals are back!

The search engine giant announced that the Huat Pals social game is returning this Lunar New Year for its fourth run, featuring new characters and game modes. From 6 to 18 February 2024, you can expect to enjoy a host of in-app goodies and stand a chance to win exciting prizes, including scratch cards worth up to S$88 or a Pixel device.


The annual social game introduces five new Huat Pals this year: Xixi Haha, Ah Bong, Macho Meow, Hop Pop and Souper Loong. You can collect them completing any of the following actions on Google Pay:


  • Make eligible transactions above $5 with merchants via:

    • Pay via FavePay QR

    • Pay via PayNow QR or UEN

  • Send money (amount above $10) to a friend (*Recipient must be a Google Pay user)

  • Purchase movie tickets on Google Pay

  • Gift a Huat Pal to a friend and receive once bonus Pal per unique friend you gift


Once you've collected all five Huat Pals, you’ll unveil the legendary Dragon Dance, which earns you a chance to win prizes including a scratch card worth up to S$88.88 and a Pixel device varying from a Pixel 8 Pro to Pixel Buds Pro.

You can also try the new in-app game, Huat Match, which has you match as many auspicious icons as you can with a limited number of moves. Huat Trivia and Huat Scanner additionally make their return. What's more, you can score special vouchers from local partners such as Irvin’s, Klook, Shopee, Shopback and Suntec+.
