Google is set to unveil its Pixel 10 smartphone lineup at the “Made by Google” event on Aug. 20, with leaked pricing suggesting a bold move to maintain affordability amid rising industry costs.

The Pixel 10 family will include four models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Prices in the United States are expected to mirror those of the Pixel 9 series.

The Pixel 10 is expected to start at USD 799 for the 128 GB model. The Pixel 10 Pro will launch at USD 999, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL will be priced at USD 1,199 for 256 GB. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to cost USD 1,799 for 256 GB.

This pricing strategy contrasts with competitors like Samsung and Apple, which are raising prices for their upcoming flagship devices.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced higher than the Z Fold 6, and Apple is expected to increase prices for the iPhone 17 Pro models.

By holding prices steady, Google positions the Pixel 10 series as a more attractive option for consumers comparing premium smartphones. It also simplifies the upgrade path for existing Pixel users.

Beyond pricing, the Pixel 10 family is expected to influence the broader smartphone market. The Pixel 10 will reportedly include a third lens in its main camera, a feature typically reserved for higher-end models.

This move could set a new standard for base models across Android devices, encouraging other manufacturers to enhance their specifications to remain competitive.

Artificial intelligence is another key focus for Google. The Pixel 10 series will integrate AI features powered by Google’s Gemini assistant and other AI tools within Android.

Buyers of Pixel 10 devices will receive trial memberships to Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra, offering a gateway to Google’s subscription-based AI services. This strategy aims to deepen user engagement with Google’s ecosystem.

Retail sales of the Pixel 10 series are expected to begin the week following the Aug. 20 launch.
