The drone, launched from the South China University of Technology, marked the official airborne distribution of the first batch of acceptance letters in the province.

The future delivery method not only demonstrated technological breakthroughs, but also piqued pupils' interest and curiosity. As the drone descended, Wang Yunyi, a Yuyan Middle School graduate, received her long-awaited acceptance letter. She was surprised and excited, saying, "I never expected to receive my college acceptance letter in this way, so it's both exciting and innovative."

The use of drones to distribute college acceptance letters was part of a bigger attempt to develop the low-altitude economy in Huangpu District. The district authorities presented a list of typical applications for drones in a variety of industries, including agriculture, logistics, and urban transit. This project seeks to stimulate the growth and development of the thriving low-altitude economy through innovation.

The list of typical instances comprises 16 promising application scenarios that are either in use or about to be implemented. These scenarios include drone-based agriculture precision seeding and pesticide spraying, urban aerial traffic operations, and low-altitude electric vertical takeoff and landing flight experiences. The authorities have recognised these scenarios as fitting the requirements for normalised operations.

To further help the low-altitude economy, the opportunity list includes 55 particular application scenarios in areas such as agriculture, forestry, meteorology, emergency response, logistics, and urban management. The long-term goal is to build a complete network of low-altitude ground takeoff and landing stations.

Following the successful delivery of college acceptance letters, express delivery businesses have stated their ambition to bring further new technologies and items into the low-altitude field. They intend to investigate the integration of low-altitude drones into the current transportation system, resulting in a comprehensive and three-dimensional transportation network.
