The intrusion was carried out by NullBulge, a hacking gang that leaked data from thousands of Slack conversations on Disney's internal workplace communication platform. The hacked information contains computer code and details about unreleased projects, providing insight into the entertainment giant's inner workings.


NullBulge disclosed the breach in a blog post, claiming to have released more than 1 terabyte of Disney data. The scope of the breach is concerning, as it includes discussions about managing Disney's corporate website, software development, and job candidate reviews, among other sensitive matters. The hacked data allegedly dates back to at least 2019, prompting concerns about its possible impact on Disney's operations and reputation.


When Disney learned of the incident, it promptly initiated an inquiry. A business spokeswoman confirmed in an emailed statement to Reuters that Disney is taking the problem seriously and working hard to resolve it.
