The PC hardware maker announced the launch of several gaming and productivity laptops featuring AI capabilities and the latest Intel and AMD processors at Computex 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan.


“MSI not only brings the industry’s most comprehensive AI+ PC lineup but also introduces multiple new laptops and handheld devices designed for car enthusiasts and gamers worldwide,” said Eric Kuo, MSI Executive Vice President and General Manager of NB Business Unit.


Prestige and Summit Series


First, MSI unveiled the Prestige and Summit series of business and productivity laptops, powered by Intel’s “Lunar Lake” processors. These new processors tout up to three times the AI performance compared to the previous generation. With integrated GPU, CPU, and NPU, they additionally provide more than 100 TOPS of AI performance. What’s more, the processors boast excellent energy efficiency ratio, leading to longer battery life in lighter and thinner laptop form factors.


The Prestige series comes in three sizes: 13, 14, and 16 inches. Each entry in the series features ultra-light bodies, large batteries, and long battery life. The whole series also includes a five-megapixel webcam.


Meanwhile, The Summit 13 AI+ Evo is part of the business and productivity series, featuring the new Intel “Lunar Lake” processor, a lightweight body, comprehensive security, and the MSI Pen 2 stylus supporting MPP 2.6.


MSI also unveiled the Summit A16 AI+ and the Prestige A16 AI+, which feature the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, a lightweight body and an 82Wh battery.

Alongside the Prestige and Summit series, MSI also unveiled the world’s first 16-inch lightweight gaming and creator laptops, the Stealth A16 AI+ and the Creator A16 AI+, which combine AI, gaming and content creation capabilities.


Both laptops feature AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors, bringing new processor architecture, integrated graphics, and NPU for better performance and display capabilities. The new processors with the new XDNA 2 architecture deliver up to three times the AI performance compared to previous releases, enabling generative AI or large language models to run directly on the laptop. The new integrated Radeon 800M series graphics unit features up to 33% more graphics cores than the previous generation, providing a smoother gameplay experience, while the new Zen 5 architecture supports up to 12 cores and up to 50% more on-chip memory than previous products, enabling improved overall performance.


On top of these specs, the Stealth A16 AI+ and Creator A16 AI+ are also equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics for more AI computing power.


Other key features include a magnesium-aluminium alloy body and Cooler Boost 5

cooling.


Claw 8 AI+


Sticking with gaming, MSI unveiled a new gaming handheld, the Claw 8 AI+. The Windows 11 device builds on the success of the original Claw but features updated internals. Chief of which is the Intel “Lunar Lake” processors that boast improved energy efficiency. MSI also said it listened to user feedback by adding a Thunderbolt 4-supported USB-C port, enhancing the tactile feel of the LB/RB buttons, increasing battery capacity, and replacing the charger with a lighter wall-mounted charger.


Modern series

MSI also announced new Modern productivity laptops, designed for students and professionals alike. The series, which is available in 13, 14, and 15-inch sizes, features a comfortable keyboard, a lightweight body and various connectivity options. These new releases also include an RJ-45 wired network port, providing a more stable internet connection.


Brand partnerships

MSI is celebrating its one-year partnership with luxury car maker Mercedes-AMG by launching the first Stealth 18 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport co-branded laptop, along with a refreshed version of the original Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.


The Stealth 18’s design is a product of the collaboration between MSI and Mercedes-AMG, incorporating speed symbols, such as the AMG pattern and logo, plus exclusive metal nameplates.


Inside, the laptop houses an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics chip, complemented by a large area vapour chamber cooling.

MSI also partnered with renowned game studio Bethesda to launch a limited edition, Fallout-themed version of the Claw gaming handheld. The entire exterior design is inspired by the game’s Vaults and the Pip-Boys worn by Vault dwellers.


All the above products are on display at MSI's booth at COMPUTEX 2024. The hardware brand is welcoming global suppliers, channel partners and media to check them out and give feedback.
