China's Homegrown HH-100 Cargo Drone Successfully Completes Maiden Flight
China's AVIC-developed HH-100 cargo drone successfully completed its first flight. The drone performed consistently and met all test flight requirements. The HH-100's maximum take-off weight is 2,000 kilogrammes, while its cargo capacity is 700 kilogrammes.
The demonstration occurred at a general aviation airport in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. AVIC XAC Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. developed the HH-100, which consists of an unmanned aerial vehicle and a ground-based command and control centre.
Throughout the trip, the HH-100 demonstration demonstrated consistent performance and met all test flying requirements. AVIC stated that all key systems ran flawlessly throughout the trip. The HH-100 is an affordable freight drone with a maximum take-off weight of 2,000 kilogrammes and a payload capacity of 700 kilogrammes. It has a range of 520 km and a maximum cruise speed of 300 km/h. The drone has a service ceiling of 5,000 metres and can transport about 4 cubic metres of cargo.
The HH-100 is intended to change air-ground transportation with its efficient and networked capabilities. In addition to regional air logistics, the drone will be used to battle forest and grassland fires, carry relief supplies, communicate with emergency services, and modify weather. AVIC intends to capitalise on the increasing low-altitude economy by establishing a fleet of huge, intelligent, low-cost, and dependable commercial unmanned transportation aerial systems.
