Today, the computer hardware maker announced the local availability of its new Windows 11 portable PC, the ROG Ally. The gaming device is powered by AMD's Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, enabling it to run modern AAA and indie games at 1080p resolution.

The Ally will retail at S$999 starting from 30 June and will be available for purchase via the ROG Experience Store Bugis, the ASUS Online Store and all authorised retailers. In addition, those who pre-order from 8 to 29 June can redeem a ROG Ally Travel Case worth S$59.9 at the ROG Ally launch roadshow at Bugis Junction from 30 June to 2 July while stocks last.

All Ally purchases also come bundled with three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for free, providing buyers access to Microsoft's library of over a hundred games on day one.

Asus officially unveiled the Ally last month after teasing it in early-2023. The Taiwanese brand touts that the handheld's processor, which features eight cores and 16 threads, is designed specifically for high-performance, portable systems. The Ally is also kept cool by a proprietary thermal solution that uses a dual-fan system with ultrathin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes. It also features 6 GB of LPDDR5 6400 MHz memory, 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, a UHS-II microSD card slot and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity under the hood.

Apart from Xbox Game Pass, the Ally can play games from every major online platform, including Steam, Android apps, Epic, GOG and cloud gaming services.

The Ally was among the products showcased by Asus ROG at Computex 2023, joining the ROG Strix Scar 18 gaming laptop, the ROG G22CH gaming desktop and the ROG Matrix RTX 4090 liquid-cooled graphics card.
