The Taiwanese PC maker on Friday, 23 June announced the launch of the ROG Phone 7 series, which consists of the ROG Phone 7 and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
The two smartphones, according to the brand, boast no-compromise performance in and out of gaming. Both are powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which features hardware-accelerated ray tracing, enabling users to enjoy hyper-realistic reflections in supported games. They also house up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 of internal memory.
For display, the ROG Phone 7 series ship with 165 Hz Samsung AMOLED panels that tout a 720 Hz touch-sampling rate. The panels also have a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits, making them easier to view under the sun. The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate has an additional matrix colour panel at the rear, which can display animations for specific actions like receiving a call or charging the smartphone, among others.
The two smartphones also include a pair of front-firing 12x16 mm speakers and a five-magnet, super-linear 13x38 mm sub-woofer under the hood. The speaker system allows users to enjoy a 2.1-channel setup while gaming. They also include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, along with other software features and solutions that ensure optimal sound quality for both wired and wireless listening experiences.

To manage heat and minimise power consumption, the ROG Phone 7 series has the GameCool 7, a thermal solution that uses different internal components to cool the CPU depending on the length of users' gaming sessions.
The two smartphones also come with a redesigned rapid-cycle vapour chamber. The pillar-shaped structures of the old chamber have been replaced with trident-shaped wick columns to improve efficiency. There are also six liquid-return channels that act as highways for water to flow back to the chipset ready for the next thermal cycle.
The AeroActive Cooler 7 fan similarly boasts a number of improvements, featuring more blades for higher back
pressure as well as a built-in thermoelectric Peltier cooler for maximum cooling power.
The ROG Phone 7 series goes on sale today in all Singapore ROG Phone outlets and resellers. The ROG Phone 7 is priced at S$1,499, while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is priced at S$1,899. Those who purchase either of the two smartphones during the launch promo period from 23 June to 6 July will also receive the ROG Phone 7 Devilcase as a freebie.
