Apple is set to increase the monthly subscription price for its streaming service, Apple TV+, by USD 3 starting Thursday. This follows a similar price adjustment by Comcast-owned NBCUniversal’s Peacock.

New subscribers in the United States and select international markets will now pay USD 12.99 per month, an increase from the previous USD 9.99. The annual subscription price and pricing for Apple One, which bundles Apple TV+ with other services like iCloud and Apple Music, remain unchanged.

Apple TV+ is known for shows such as the psychological thriller "Severance", which received 27 Emmy Award nominations this year. Popular original series like "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show" are also featured on the platform.
Despite its content, the streaming network has fewer subscribers than rivals Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon.com’s Prime Video. While the iPhone maker does not disclose Apple TV+ subscriber numbers, five analysts polled by Visible Alpha estimated the service reached 40.4 million subscribers by the end of 2024.
In comparison, Netflix reported over 300 million paid memberships at the end of last year. Apple previously raised the Apple TV+ subscription price by USD 3 in Oct. 2023.
Peacock increased prices for both its ad-supported and premium plus plans by USD 3 in July. According to a March report from The Information, Apple has been losing more than USD 1 billion annually on Apple TV+.

The company has invested more than USD 5 billion each year on content since launching Apple TV+ in 2019, though it reduced this spending by approximately USD 500 million last year.
Apple TV+ monthly subscription price will increase by USD 3 for new subscribers.
The new monthly cost will be USD 12.99, up from USD 9.99.
The price change affects new subscribers in the U.S. and select international markets starting Thursday.
