Apple has secured over half of TSMC’s 2nm production capacity for 2026, earmarking it for future iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro chips. This significant agreement highlights Apple’s strategic planning for its next-generation devices.

TSMC is scheduled to begin mass production of its 2nm process by the end of this year. The secured capacity will power Apple’s iPhone 18 series A20/A20 Pro processors, MacBook Pro M6 chips, and the next-generation Vision Pro R2 chips.

The A20 series will also be the first to adopt TSMC’s “Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module” (WMCM) packaging technology. This innovation arranges the System-on-Chip and DRAM side by side, simplifying the interposer layer.

This approach is expected to significantly improve thermal efficiency and yield. It is also expected to reduce material costs for the new processors, marking a key advancement in chip manufacturing.
