Tsinghua AI Spinout Tairex Introduces Multi-Specialty Doctor Avatars For Outpatient Clinics

Tairex has launched a framework called Multidisciplinary Human-Agent Collaboration and upgraded its Agent Hospital system. The artificial intelligence healthcare company was incubated by Tsinghua University's Institute for AI Industry Research.

Research origins for the Agent Hospital lie with Professor Liu Yang and a team that built a simulated hospital. In this environment, artificial intelligence doctor agents treat millions of synthetic patients, reflect on failures, and distill reusable rules.
The new framework brings coordinated avatars of different specialities into ordinary outpatient visits. Traditional multidisciplinary team consultations are typically expensive, limited to large hospitals, and convened offline after patients visit several departments.
During routine consultations, the system detects when another speciality is relevant and displays a specialist avatar's advice as a prompt. For complex cases, multiple avatars join a consultation view to provide suggestions on diagnosis and drugs, while human doctors make the final judgment.
Avatars are designed to learn from real doctors through feedback loops. Corrections are fed back into fine-tuning when human doctors choose alternative treatments, such as cheaper medications covered by medical insurance.
The system includes 54 artificial intelligence doctors, millions of simulated patients, and coverage across 27 specialities. Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital has run outpatient tests involving 18 clinical departments and more than 40 doctors.
The company and hospital report efficiency gains of about 30% and MedQA accuracy above 96%. These figures have not been independently verified, and the artificial intelligence does not make diagnoses on its own.
