Zeekr debuted its first plug-in hybrid SUV, the 9X, at the Shanghai Auto Show on Wednesday, positioning it as a luxury flagship to challenge the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Range Rover.

The 9X is Zeekr’s full-size SUV and marks a significant step in the brand’s electrification strategy. The vehicle features a bold design with a large front grille and 22-inch forged silver monoblock wheels, drawing visual comparisons to high-end Western models.
Equipped with CATL’s Freevoy hybrid battery, the 9X supports a 6C charge rate, allowing it to charge from 20% to 80% in just nine minutes. It offers an all-electric range of 380 kilometres on a single charge.
The SUV also includes two of NVIDIA’s DRIVE Thor chips, delivering 1,400 teraflops of performance, and five lidar components. Zeekr said these features enable the 9X to potentially support Level 3 semi-autonomous driving under certain conditions.
A premium version, the 9X Grand, is expected to retail for RMB 1 million (USD 137,200). In comparison, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan starts at RMB 6.9 million in China.
