The Hong Kong and Singapore-based fintech startup announced it's revamping the look of its signature physical card and app interface on Monday, 12 June. The redesign, which is being called YouTrip 2.0, brings a more seamless digital banking experience while also maintaining user safety and convenience.

The app, as YouTrip touts, now features a new and more intuitive interface that makes it easier for users to check the exchange rates of more than 150 currencies and access various perks. A host of new features are also expected to roll out in the coming months starting with the waiver of ATM withdrawal fee on Thursday, 15 June. Users of the app can now enjoy zero fees for their first S$400 ATM withdrawal in the calendar month.

YouTrip additionally unveiled a more modern card design that replaces the one that was launched five years ago. The new card accents a transparent window that supposedly symbolises the limitless possibilities YouTrip users can experience with their travel payment companion.

"YouTrip 2.0 is part of the company’s agile and iterative approach to product development and improvement based on user feedback and market trends and preferences as we embark on our fifth year with the Singapore market," said Caecilia Chu, CEO and Co-Founder of YouTrip. "Equipped with enhanced security features, the improved app and modernised physical card is part of YouTrip’s ongoing efforts to build a secure, borderless multi-currency e-wallet that promises the best rates, all day."

YouTrip 2.0 also provides app users a complimentary virtual card immediately upon application’s approval. The card allows them to access YouTrip's exchanges for online payments while they wait for the arrival of their physical card. It's created with a different 16-digit PAN number from the physical card and can be locked, terminated and replaced instantly. Users will receive instant payment notifications, allowing them to manage their expenses and flag potentially fraudulent transactions from within the app.

The introduction of a virtual card also allows users to separate purchases with the digital card from the physical one. What's more, Apple Pay support is scheduled to be rolled out in Q3 2023, further enabling users to enjoy the perks of the virtual card.
