Xiaomi’s entry into China’s artificial intelligence (AI) glasses market is gaining traction, with early adopters praising the device’s hands-free features and integration with the company’s broader tech ecosystem.

Launched on June 26, the Xiaomi AI glasses are priced from CNY 1,999 (USD 278.54) and feature a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, Qualcomm’s AR1 chip, and a battery life of 8.6 hours.
Users have highlighted the glasses’ usefulness for first-person video recording and AI-powered tasks, such as real-time translation and meeting transcription.
A Singapore-based media worker surnamed Li said the glasses were ideal for hands-free filming while cycling in Beijing. By simply saying “start recording” to the XiaoAI assistant, the device began capturing video.
Beijing-based photographer Pan Yanzhuo noted the unique perspective offered by the first-person shooting angle, which he found enjoyable for casual activities like playing card games.
Pan also praised the image and video quality, attributing it to Xiaomi’s experience in smartphone imaging technology.
The glasses’ integration with XiaoAI, Xiaomi’s voice assistant, allows users to perform tasks such as translating 10 languages and managing office communications.
Li, who had tried other AI eyewear including Ray-Ban Meta glasses, said Xiaomi’s product stood out due to its seamless connectivity with other Xiaomi devices.
WellsennXR analyst He Wangcheng said Xiaomi’s strength lies in its extensive ecosystem, which includes smart home appliances and electric vehicles.
Shenzhen-based AI entrepreneur Luo Xuan said he used the glasses to control other Xiaomi products, calling the feature convenient for users already invested in the brand.

The global AI glasses market has expanded rapidly, with a report from Counterpoint in February predicting intense competition in 2025.
Counterpoint analyst Ivan Lam said Xiaomi’s integrated supply chain and product ecosystem give it an edge over other Chinese AI eyewear makers.
Despite the positive reception, users hope future versions of the glasses will resemble regular eyewear more closely. Luo said the current design still looks like a tech gadget, which makes it stand out in public.
