This move comes as X aims to expand its presence in the Japanese market and develop new functions and advertising products specifically tailored to the region.

Earlier reports from Nikkei indicated that X would initiate its engineer hiring process in 2024. The company plans to establish an app development team that will focus on creating mechanisms for low-cost ads, catering to the needs of small and midsize businesses in Japan.

X has faced challenges in retaining advertisers since its acquisition by Elon Musk in October 2022. In recent weeks, major brands such as Apple, Walt Disney, and Warner Bros Discovery have expressed concerns over the presence of antisemitic content on the platform, leading to an exodus of advertisers. However, Musk has offered a full apology and explanation regarding the issue, as quoted by Nikkei.
