Vivo has announced its new Vision VR headset, drawing clear inspiration from Apple’s Vision Pro. The Chinese company revealed the device at the Boao Forum event in Hainan, showcasing a design that closely resembles Apple’s mixed reality headset.

The Vision headset features a dark, glossy front panel, a cable-tethered battery pack, and a corrugated rear head strap, mirroring key elements of the Vision Pro. However, Vivo’s version appears slightly less bulky and lacks the front-mounted screen, a feature of Apple’s headset that received mixed reviews.
Technical specifications, including processor details, screen technology, and resolution, have not yet been disclosed. However, the presence of downward-facing cameras suggests the device may support advanced hand-tracking gestures, similar to the Vision Pro. The external battery pack also indicates that the headset will likely have a built-in processor and interface, allowing for standalone operation.
Vivo plans to fully introduce the Vision headset in mid-2025. The company has stated that the device will serve both consumer applications and robotics development, describing it as contributing to the "brain" and "eyes" of robots.
Vivo is a significant player in the global smartphone market. According to Counterpoint Research data for Q4 2024, the company holds an 8% market share, ranking behind Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi. Vivo is part of BBK Electronics, which also owns OPPO, OnePlus, Realme, and IQOO.
