Chinese smartphone maker Vivo unveiled a mixed-reality headset that resembles Apple’s Vision Pro in name, design, and interface. The Vivo Vision is controlled with intuitive eye tracking and hand gestures, according to information published on Vivo’s website on Thursday. The Vivo Vision weighs 398 grams, which is approximately 35% less than Apple's Vision Pro, which weighs at least 600 grams.

Vivo Chief Operating Officer Hu Baishan told Chinese media earlier this week that the headset’s price could be roughly USD 1,393 or less.

This contrasts with Apple’s Vision Pro, which costs at least 29,999 yuan in mainland China.
The Vivo Vision is controlled with intuitive eye tracking and hand gestures, similar to the Apple device. It features two organic-light-emitting-diode displays, each offering a resolution of 3,840 pixels by 3,552 pixels.
These combined displays deliver an 8K resolution. The headset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 Platform, which boosts the graphics-processing frequency by 15% compared with its predecessor.
The headset offers two strap options: a solo knit band and a dual-loop band. Currently, the unit functions only with specific Vivo phones and computers running Windows 10 or later versions for screen projections.
Vivo exhibited the headset earlier in March in China’s southern Hainan province. While a release date or official pricing was not disclosed on Thursday, Vivo invited users to book demonstrations.
These demonstrations are available at brick-and-mortar stores in 12 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.
