Vivo Singapore Unveils the V30, Its Slimmest Smartphone With 5,000mAh Battery
Vivo's latest smartphone doesn't sacrifice design for performance, boasting a range of cool features while maintaining a thin and slim form factor.
The Chinese smartphone maker launched today in Singapore the latest addition to the popular V series, the V30. The new smartphone is said to be the company's slimmest smartphone with a 5,000mAh four-year durable battery.
One of its top features is the upgraded Aura Light Portrait 3.0, which provides a light-emitting area that can help capture more details in photos, as well as preserve the texture of the subject's skin. The unique lighting system can reportedly reach up to 19 times larger and 50 times softer than standard flash. It also works in tandem with software features like Smart Colour Adjustment, which identifies and adjusts colour temperature based on the subject's surroundings, and Distance-Sensitive Lighting, which detects subject's distance from the camera in real time to adjust lighting settings.
The V30 is said to be the first global smartphone to ship with the 50 MP OmniVision OV50E sensor as its main camera. This 1/1.55-inch sensor offers flagship-level light sensitivity, enhancing night photography experiences and capturing more details in low-light environments. It has another 50 MP sensor for its ultra-wide camera with autofocus and 119-degree angle support. Up front, the smartphone has another 50 MP sensor that similarly includes autofocus but it caps at 92-degree angles.
Vivo also touts that it designed the V30 with style and practicality in mind. As a result, it was able to fit a 5,000mAh battery inside a smartphone that's only 7.45mm thin. To do this, the company used the One Piece Encapsulation Technique to reconfigure the battery casing and make it thinner.
Despite its thinner frame, the battery lifespan of the V30 has doubled compared to its predecessor, lasting up to 23 hours of standby time. The smartphone can also be charged in just 48 minutes thanks to the company's 80W FlashCharge solution. Alongside the upsized battery, the V30 also houses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 CPU and an Adreno 720 GPU.
For display, it flaunts a 6.78” AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 2,800 nits peak brightness. There is a fingerprint scanner underneath the curved panel.
Other notable features of the V30 include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance and a cushioning structure that helps with drop resistance.
Vivo is offering the V30 in two colour options: Petals White and Green Sea. It's priced at S$699, with a launch date of 23 March. Those who pre-order from today until 22 March via Vivo's official retailers can score a pair of TWS 3e earphones free of charge.
