Unitree G1+ Humanoid Adds Stronger Motors and Wider Vision

Unitree has introduced the G1+, a major hardware and interaction upgrade to its compact G1 humanoid robot, adding a more flexible neck, stronger and cooler motors, wider visual sensing, touch controls and improved audio. Pandaily reports a tax-inclusive Chinese price of about RMB95,000, while Unitree’s international page lists the standard model at US$15,000 before tax and shipping, positioning it as a relatively accessible research platform for developers.

The upgraded neck adds two degrees of freedom, allowing pitch movement from minus 25 to 36 degrees and yaw of up to 110 degrees in either direction. Unitree also says peak torque at the shoulders and waist has more than doubled, while revised motors produce substantially less heat during matched-torque operation.
A new dual-vision system combines a two-megapixel stereo camera with a 1080p wide-angle monocular camera and 3D lidar. Together, the sensors are designed to improve depth perception, environmental awareness and teleoperation across research, education and development work.
Interaction has also been expanded. The head now carries a five-point touch sensor, while a six-microphone array can identify sound direction. Two 10W waist-mounted speakers handle audio output, and buyers can add a wireless microphone for clearer voice capture.
The standard G1+ weighs about 35kg and retains a roughly two-hour battery life. The base model has 25 degrees of freedom, while the EDU version can be configured with up to 45. Unitree lists arm payloads of 3kg for the standard machine and 4kg for EDU configurations.
The changes make the G1+ a more capable development platform rather than a fully autonomous household worker. Its value will depend on software, safety controls and application-specific training, but the added sensing and stronger joints broaden what developers can test on comparatively compact hardware.
