The Unitree A2 Stellar Hunter, a four-legged robot dog developed by Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics, is designed to carry heavy loads, travel long distances and move with agility.

The robot can carry up to 100 kg when stationary and up to 30 kg while walking. It can travel approximately 12.6 km with a 30 kg load before requiring a battery change or recharge.
Weighing 37 kg and measuring 0.82 metres in length, the A2 includes two 9,000 mAh batteries. Without a payload, it can operate for up to five hours, covering a distance of around 20 km. With a full load, the robot lasts up to three hours.

The A2 reaches a top speed of 13.3 km/h, significantly faster than Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot, which tops out at 5.8 km/h. Unitree also offers an optional wheel attachment that can increase the A2’s speed to 18 km/h, though range and runtime data for the wheeled version have not been disclosed.
The robot features 12 degrees of freedom and a maximum torque of 180 Nm, enabling it to climb obstacles up to 1 metre high and steps up to 0.3 metres.
For navigation and perception, the A2 is equipped with front and rear lidar modules, an HD front camera with an LED lamp, a microphone array and a loudspeaker.
Its autonomous functions are powered by an 8-core CPU, with an Intel Core i7 processor available for programming. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and optional 4G and GPS modules.
The A2 is available in two versions: A2 and A2-Pro. Both share similar specifications, but the Pro version includes a High Computing Power Expansion Dock for enhanced processing capabilities.
Unitree offers optional wheels and provides pricing details upon request.
