TCL introduces two new midrange Nxtpaper phones with monochrome displays. The dedicated "Max Ink Mode" button improves the reading experience and extends battery life. Both phones have a large 6.8-inch 1080p display, high-resolution cameras, and a large battery capacity.

The TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G and 50 Nxtpaper 5G are the most recent additions to the lineup, expanding on earlier budget models released this year. A notable enhancement in these new models is the addition of a dedicated button that activates the "Max Ink Mode," which provides users with a monochrome display experience similar to E Ink technology. Initially launching in Europe, there is hope for a future release in the United States market.
The standout feature of these phones is the "Nxtpaper key," a two-stage slider that transforms the display into a monochrome mode ideal for reading, resembling the appearance of an E Ink screen. When Max Ink Mode is activated, notifications are muted, and app icons adopt a charming wireframe style reminiscent of E Ink displays. This mode not only enhances readability but also conserves battery life, offering up to a week of reading time on a single charge, transforming your phone into a versatile e-reader at will.

In addition to the innovative Max Ink Mode, both phones have a large 6.8-inch 1080p display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. They come with a powerful 108-megapixel main rear camera and a large 5,010mAh battery capacity. The Pro variant is distinguished by a superior 32-megapixel front camera and 512GB of storage, whereas the non-Pro version has an 8-megapixel front camera and 256GB storage. Notably, the TCL 50 Pro includes optional accessories such as a flip case and stylus to improve the user experience.
The TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper will cost €299 in Europe and Latin America, including optional accessories. The TCL 50 Nxtpaper, on the other hand, will only be available in Europe and will cost €229.
