A Poland-based start-up has unveiled the Volonaut Airbike, a futuristic hoverbike capable of flying at nearly 200 km/h, drawing comparisons to the iconic Speeder Bikes from Star Wars.

Inventor Tomasz Patan, who also developed the Jetson One eVTOL, confirmed the authenticity of a newly released video showing the Airbike flying over deserts and forests. Patan said the footage was captured using high-quality cameras and FPV drones, with no artificial effects or AI enhancements.
The Volonaut Airbike is a single-seat aircraft that uses jet propulsion instead of propellers. The company claims it is designed to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h. Patan declined to reveal further details about the propulsion system, citing a desire to maintain secrecy and excitement.
The Airbike features a proprietary stabilisation system and flight computer that enable automatic hovering and simplified control. Its forward-facing riding position offers a 360-degree view, aiming to give riders a sense of complete freedom.
Constructed with advanced carbon-fibre materials and 3D printing, the Airbike is reportedly seven times lighter than a typical motorcycle.
Patan completed the first successful flight of the Airbike in May 2023, following several failed prototypes. The company stated it is “highly probable” the Airbike will be available commercially in the near future, though no timeline or pricing has been announced.
