Spotify Introduces Offline Backup Feature for Premium Users
Spotify introduces Offline Backup feature for Premium users. Automatically creates a playlist with queued and recently streamed tracks. Users can organise tracks by mood or genre for a customised listening experience.
This latest offering from the popular streaming app is designed to automatically create a playlist called Offline Backup, comprising queued and recently streamed tracks, both downloaded and cached, tailored to users' listening preferences.
Unlike the traditional Download feature, Offline Backup does not require manual intervention, instead seamlessly curating a playlist that evolves over time based on individual listening habits. When using Spotify offline, users will notice the Offline Backup playlist prominently displayed alongside the reassuring message, "No data, no drama."
Furthermore, users can organise tracks by mood, with options such as Peaceful, Energetic, Indie Pop, Romantic, and more. Users can listen to a curated list of songs that match their mood by selecting a specific category.
The Offline Backup playlist includes not only downloaded tracks, but also music recommendations from Spotify, which improves the overall listening experience. Users can also add the Offline Backup playlist to their library for quick and easy access at any time.
While the tracks in the Offline Backup playlist are distinct from offline downloaded music playlists and do not appear in the offline search functionality within Your Library, users can still search for music directly within the playlist. To ensure the smooth functioning of the Offline Backup feature, users are advised to:
- Ensure they are using the latest version of the Spotify app.
- Have recently listened to at least five songs.
- Enable offline listening in the app settings (Settings > Data Saving > Offline Listening).
This innovative feature is now available to Spotify Premium users worldwide, with support for Android, iOS, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Users can benefit from the Offline Backup feature on a variety of devices, though individual results may vary depending on device compatibility.
