Sony Unveils New Metallic Colourways for PS5 Accessories

A new collection of metallic colourways are joining the PS5 family of accessories.
Sony hosted a PlayStation State of Play today, where it unveiled the Deep Earth Collection for the DualSense wireless controller and the PS5's console covers. The collection consists of three new colourways, all of which have a smooth metallic finish: Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue and Sterling Silver.
“While crafting this new collection of DualSense controller and PS5 console cover colors, we drew inspiration from the beautiful and powerful hues found in the depths of planet Earth," said Satoshi Aoyagi, a member of the PlayStation design team. "We elevated the colours by adding a metallic finish for a touch of sophistication.”
Pre-orders for the collection, which cover both the DualSense controller and the console plates, begin on 4 October. Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue accessories are releasing on 3 November, followed by Sterling Silver accessories on 26 January.
The Deep Earth DualSense controllers are priced at S$107, while the console covers are priced at S$79.90.
In the same stream, Sony unveiled new gameplay footage of the upcoming PlayStation exclusive, Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The new video details the updated exploration, the ability to seamlessly switch between the two playable Spider-Man characters, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as well as the new suits, gadgets and ways to traverse the open world, Marvel's New York. Speaking of which, the game's map is twice the size of the original, with new boroughs to explore.
Sony previously announced a limited edition Marvel's Spider-Man 2-themed PS5 bundle, which includes a custom PS5 console cover design and matching DualSense wireless controller, along with a digital code for the game. The console covers from that bundle and the controller are also being sold as separate standalone releases.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 launches on PS5 on 20 October 2023.
Sony also revealed the release date for Helldivers 2. The co-op shooter is launching on the PS5 and PC on 8 February 2024, with pre-orders for the Standard and Super Citizen Editions opening on 22 September 2023.
