According to Bloomberg, the audio equipment developer is launching a pair of high-end over-the-ear headphones, a pair of in-ear wireless earbuds and a streaming box for TV sets next year.

The long-rumoured headphones would be launching in the high-end space, with Sonos planning to charge more than US$400 for it. That puts it in the range of Sony's much-acclaimed WH-1000MX5 and Apple's AirPods Max, which retail for US$400 and US$549, respectively. Not much else is known about the new headphones yet, except that it'll come in black and white colour options, sync with other Sonos speakers and let you use your voice to switch between songs. Sonos is targeting to release the headphones by April next year.

Meanwhile, the streaming box is said to run on an Android-based operating system, working similar to other options already in the market in how it runs different entertainment services. Sonos is currently striking deals with Netflix and other live television services to support its yet-to-be-released device. It will reportedly cost between US$150 and US$200, which is higher than similar devices released by Apple, Amazon and Roku. As for the box's release, Sonos hopes to have it in market by the end of 2024 to early 2025.

Apart from these devices, Sonos plans to refresh its existing home theater equipment, including a new subwoofer, a new Roam speaker, an updated version of its Arc soundbar and an enterprise-focused Era 100 speaker sporting an ethernet port. The new Arc could cost US$1,200, reports Bloomberg, marking a significant increase from the current model that's priced at US$900. As for the other audio devices, it's unclear yet how much they'll cost.

In addition, the company is also working on software that will let you control the Sonos devices in your house from your smartphone while you're away.

Sonos has long been rumoured to be developing headphones to expand its product line. The company is reportedly hedging its bets on the new products to boost sales after recording a slump in the speaker market this year. Sonos CEO Patrick Spence said he expects the headphones and the earbuds to account for a “large portion” of the company’s revenue by the second half of 2024.
